(T.C. Giraffe)
Up in the air now, what do I see? A little brown monkey flyin’ by so free!
Cruisin’ along on a yellow balloonswingin’ and a-grinnin’ and a-singin’ this tune:
"Wacka-wacka do, say helium balloon! Helium balloon, say wacka-wacka do!"
I used to think an intelligent guywould not see monkeys flyin’ in the sky.
Now I’m thinkin’ like a happy giraffeHerbert and Mister Monkey makin’ me laugh!
It’s good to have a best friend, yessireeand even better when best friends are three.
And never ever best friends more than weHerbert the Hippo, Mister Monkey and Me!
(Herbert the Hippo)
Lyin’ in the mud, jus’ squishin’ my toesdreamin’ of the river where the green grass grows.
T.C. Giraffe comes wanderin’ by, “Say, meet Mister Monkey. He can actually fly!”
If I yawn on a downtown strollmy friends won’t giggle, and their eyes don’t roll!
For never ever best friends more than weT.C. Giraffe, Mister Monkey and Me!
(T.C.)
Give me the savanna with the farthest view!
(Herbert)
I like floating where the river’s blue!
(Mr. Monkey)
And I’m happy swinging through the jungle trees!
(All)
Though we do everything differently
Never best friends better than we!
(Mister Monkey)
Naturally, you ask how a monkey can fly. Holding to a helium balloon is why!
I may smell like I live in a zoobut I’m good lookin’, and I’m talented too!
Wacka-wacka do, say helium balloon! Helium balloon, say wacka-wacka do!
We walk right by them, but adults don’t seewhile all of the children shout with glee
Never ever best friends more than
T.C. Giraffe, Herbert the Hippo, Mister Monkey and Me!
