Grinnin’ like a movie star—Chauffered into the city in a Cadillac car!
Up in the spotlight wherever he goes—everyone knows—it’s Herbert the Hippo!

“Ooo-oo-wee! Ooo-oo-wee!”

Herbert! Herbert! Bigger than a billboard, sweeter than sherbert!
Herbert! Herbert! A great hunk o’ beefcake—goin’ on a Zoo Break!

“Ooo-oo-wee! Ooo-oo-wee!”

Restaurants where he stops to dine, the doorman lets him enter at the front of the line.
The maitre-d’ calls, "Move a table for four!" and pours a big mud puddle right on the floor!

“Ooo-oo-wee! Ooo-oo-wee!”

“We just love and adore him!” the cute girl hippos scream!
“He’s the hip-est hippopotamus to hit upon the hippo scene!”
“He’s supreme! He’s our dream!”

Nine-course dinner—now that’s class—and every one of the courses a bundle of grass!
He takes up the dance floor when doin’ the swing—while gathered in around him, all the animals sing:

“Ooo-oo-wee! Ooo-oo-wee!”
