Snap Dragon

My Grandma's sunny garden is where Snap Dragon grows!
You'd think he was a flower, I'm the only one who knows!
When I just snap my fingers, next to that flower's head,
Snap instantly appears for me, in that flower bed.

He laughs and he sings, and he flaps his wings,
He's here in a wink, and he makes me happy.
Can you just imagine that! With my Snap, Snap Dragon, it's a snap-snap-snap!
He's great -- ! I'll tell you why -- !
'Cause when I'm up on back of my Dragon, Snap, then
We can fly! We can fly! We can fly!

I told my older brother, Snap's armored scales are green.
Big dragon claws, and dragon jaws, sharp as you've ever seen.
But he just won't believe me! Says, "Please don't make me laugh!
There's no such thing as dragons, it was prob'ly a giraffe!"

Well, you can say anything you want to, I know he's real, and he's just for me!
I'm not lyin', I'm not braggin', I've got my very own Snap, the Dragon!
He laughs and he sings, and he flaps his wings,
He's here in a wink, and he makes me happy.

In class, I told my story: "When smoke comes from Snap's nose,
Then breathing makes him sneeze, so, now, I fireproof my clothes!!"
My teacher isn't happy, gives me those funny looks.
She claims the only dragons are in fairy story books.

Well, you can say anything you want to, I know he's real, and he's just for me!
I'm not lyin', I'm not braggin', I've got my very own Snap, the Dragon!

And so I asked, "Hey Grandma, how could there really be --
A dragon in your garden, that only I can see?"
She said, "The whole world's magic, that's why it can be true--
That something which is real for me might not be real for you."

So, you can say anything you want to, I know he's real, and he's just for me!
